The common thread
The common thread throughout my career is helping organisations change, build and grow. I thrive where strategy meets execution and where tangible progress is needed.
As an entrepreneur, I work with trusted partners to strengthen organisations and prepare them for the future. In doing so, I connect strategic choices with day-to-day practice and ensure plans are actually implemented.
Experience I bring
My career started in hospitality, where I took responsibility for people and day-to-day operations at a young age. After completing two IT degrees, I joined PwC and subsequently developed my career for more than eleven years within the international organisations SLS, Arjo and Iron Mountain.
In later management and director roles, I worked at the intersection of strategy, operations and transformation. As a European Director, I built a new service with international colleagues that grew from 0 to 40 employees and €20 million in revenue within one year.
My experience has since become much broader: from entrepreneur, investor and shareholder to director, strategic adviser, Project Manager, Program Manager and Transformation Officer. I have worked across a wide range of sectors and organisations, nationally and internationally, and have also gained more than ten years of political and governance experience. This allows me to approach challenges from multiple perspectives and connect strategy, people, commercial interests and execution.
How I work
I do not arrive as the consultant who claims to have all the answers and leaves behind a plan that ends up in a drawer. I bring plans into the operation, organise execution and stay involved until the approach works.
Once the organisation can move forward independently, I hand over with care. My style is direct and clear, while remaining attentive to people, different interests and the long term.
I take my work seriously, but not always myself. Humour and a light touch help me keep even complex assignments human and workable.
Governance and society
Alongside my professional career, I have contributed to local and national committees and boards within JCI, served on the board of the largest basketball club in the Netherlands, gained political experience and participate in a school employee and parent council.
These roles have broadened my perspective on stakeholder interests and social impact. I also have experience with international and global responsibilities, governance structures, oversight and careful decision-making.
Who I am
I live with my wife and two children in Zoelen, in the heart of the Betuwe. I combine positive energy and humour with discipline, structure and a strong drive to deliver results.
Colleagues describe me as a strategic and engaged professional who connects people, brings clarity and creates momentum.
